Malcolm was caught up in hustling, and robbery. Malcolm was sentenced to 8-10 years of prison. In prison Malcolm gained most of his knowledge and learned to read and write. Malcolm joined the nation of Islam after he got out of prison and was soon appointed to the leader of Islam. He is accused by some for leading black supremacy, racism, and black power.
